The snake on the reverse is based on the image of the European adder. The Year of the Snake is a Shēngxiào collection and is the first edition to 2025, carefully crafted to honor this revered symbol of strength and wisdom. The reverse of the coin features a stunning design by Chris Costello.
On the obverse we find the traditional profile portrait of the current King of Great Britain, His Majesty King Charles III. The author of the proposal is Martin Jennings.
